The Whedonverse Multimedia Project closed its doors in November of 2006. The following is the most complete information we could find on the project, taken from its now defunct website.

"The Whedonverse Multimedia Project was founded in May of 2004. The goal of the project is to donate Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, and Firefly/Serenity DVDs as well as related merchandise to public libraries and other charitable causes and share the joy of the Whedonverse. It originally started as part of the Mutant Boosters site, then spun off as its own site in November 2004 when Mutant Boosters decided to become Booster Events.

The site is set to expire this November and there are no plans to renew it. ...let's look at what you've already accomplished. Thanks to financial contributions from the fans, the Project has donated 183 DVDs to 16 public libraries and 3 military bases. In addition, fans donated items directly to organizations of their choosing amounting to an additional 123 DVDs and 55 books to 32 libraries, 2 charitable organizations and 1 military base."
