The Raleigh Browncoats are responsible for their city's screenings of Joss Whedon's "SERENITY" in all eight years from 2006-2013 as part of the Can't Stop the Serenity Screenings to benefit Equality Now. In 2010, they raised $4,170, with $3,128 going to Equality Now and $1,042 to Kids Need To Read. In its first year, Raleigh's screening raised $1,740 for Equality Now. In 2007, they more than doubled their contribution to $3,521. And in 2008, they raised $5,254. In 2009, they added Kids Need to Read, and in two nights raised $4,647 for EN and $695 for KNTR.

Raleigh Browncoat Jen Hilton coordinated the first screening in 2006, as well as the 2007 and 2008 events, which were all held at Raleighwood Cinema Grill. In 2009, CSTS-Raleigh was coordinated by Maer, Liz and Sharon. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, the event committee was Jim Shires, Jen Hilton, and Aaron & Sarah Stone.

Charter Browncoat sponsors of the Raleigh CStS screening are Wake Forest Awards and Engraving, The Berkeley Cafe, JLHjewelry and Wake the Fallen. Other sponsors and donors include Magic Corner, Steve Burnett of Subscape Annex, SeTech Support, Susan Sewell, and the Mutineers: RPG roleplayers.

The Raleigh Browncoats meet occasionally for dinner and movies throughout the year.
